Although I wished I was there in body, with help from Instagram and the bloggers I follow, as well as live streams, I almost felt like it... I really enjoyed some of the shows the past few days at New York Fashion Week. And the street style, as always, was impeccable. Which something to say considering it was literally freezing up in New York, something a native Floridian like me could never handle. So I applaud the amazingly fashionable and street chic men and women who completely out did themselves in the face of Mother Nature. There is a mixture of trends I saw including beading details, neutrals, dark colors, knits, dresses with sneakers,mid-calf boots, oversized coats/sweaters, statement bags, midi skirts, and simple hairstyles. My favorite shows included Timo Weiland, Ohne Titel, BCBG MaxAzaria, Ryan Roche, Kate Spade, Tibi, Carolina Herrerra, Banana Republic, Victoria Beckham, Opening Ceremony, Alice & Olivia, Zac Posen, and Lacoste. Kanye's show with Addidas was okay. I mean the sneakers were alright, although overpriced in my opinion, but the clothes were just blah. One thing I will say is I liked the presentation of the show and how the models were staged. I've posted some of my favorite shots from fashion week here. Check out my Instagram for more of my pics.
On a modesty perspective, this year was quite classy. That could be because all the collections besides Desigual had a fall/winter vibe going on, but I was proud and pleased to say the least. The abundance of midi skirts on the runways and streets also gave me tons of cool styling ideas so that was great. All in all, it was a good week for the fashion industry in terms of modest clothing.
As New York Fashion Week comes to a close, we are all ready and super excited (or at least I am) for London Fashion Week which starts today. Stay tuned to the blog for a potential recap when it's over and check out my Instagram for posts during the week. It's been a nice chat lovelies, till next time.
